Investors Marsa Alam: 60% occupancy rate in hotels in 2014

Said Association President Msatthmra Marsa Alam, Dr. Atef Abdel-Latif, the proportion of occupancy in hotels and tourist villages Marsa Alam rose to 60% this year after it was closed most of the hotels during the past three years. 

According to Abdel Latif At release- statement that a number of problems facing the tourism sector in Marsa Alam, including the complexities of the Ministry of Environment, which does not grant any approval on a new project a year ago.

He said Abdul Latif, 70% of tourist projects in Marsa Alam suffer from problems, because of the stop banks from lending and funding them, as a result of the events of the past three years, which raised the proportion of risk in the tourism sector, making these projects stop working or do not complete the reforms and expansion. 

He stressed that the central bank, banks and stood beside the sector during the revolutions did not demanding hotels installments of loans or benefits with the beginning of the return of activity for the sector this year are demanding the payment of premiums and benefits of current and old and this is not what investors can pay once. 

Abdul Latif suggested establishing a fund to support the tourism sector will be doing two billion pounds of pre-existing government represented by the Ministry of Tourism and any entrepreneur can borrow tripped from this fund simple interest rate so that he can return to activity after any crises. 

He added that a return to a number of tourist arrivals to reach more than 14 million tourists, such as the year 2010 is not difficult and can be achieved and increase it the return of security and stability in full and to attend conferences and international tourism fairs and law reform stalled investment and reformulation of new such as the Law of bids and tenders and not to apply laws retroactively
